South Carolina she is the daughter of the late Jacob Ponder Nabors and Inez Smith Nabors and the wife of the late Melvin Mack Byrd.
Opal is a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Piedmont, South Carolina. She spent her career as a weaver with Alice Manufacturing.
She is survived by two sons; Brian Raines (Angela) of Liberty, South Carolina, David Marcus Raines Jr. (Kelley) of Piedmont, South Carolina, one sister; Toranella Jean Osowicki ( Stanley) Of Easley, South Carolina, one brother; Jerry Smith Nabors of Easley, South Carolina, and six grandchildren; Dustin Raines (Rachael) of Walhalla, South Carolina, Amanda Perry (Shane) of Liberty, South Carolina, David Marcus Raines III of Easley, South Carolina, Justin Wade Raines of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, Dylan Franklin Stone of Piedmont, South Carolina, Brittany Jean Osowicki and her fiancé Leland Warner of Easley and one great grandchild; Rowdy Scott Raines of Walhalla, South Carolina.
Visitation will be held Tuesday May 8, 2018 1pm until 2pm at Dillard Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2pm. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
