Born in Pickens County, on April 1, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John David and Lillie Reeves Yates. Mrs. Buchanan attended Missionary Baptist Church and was such a joyous and fun person to be around. She never met a stranger and was always involved in activities with her family and friends.
Surviving are her daughter Janice Banks and her husband Curtis; one granddaughter, Cindy Banks and one great-grandson, Dylan Banks.
Mrs. Buchanan was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased in death by nine brothers, two sisters, and a grandson, Randy Banks.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 9, 2017, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 2 p.m. in the Dillard Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.
