Mrs. Ozell Kelley Merck

Ozell Kelley Merck, 85, wife of the late Leonard Merck, passed from this life Thursday, May 7, 2015. Mrs. Merck was born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late J. W. and Mallie Mae Hooker Kelley. She owned and operated Ozell’s Beauty Salon in Central for many years and she was a lifelong member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Doris Evans (Dan) of Central and her son, Benny Merck of Central and a granddaughter, Michelle Craven (Bruce) of Clemson. Also surviving are 2 great grandchildren, Evan and Holden Craven and sisters, Eloise Cochran of Central and Argyle Degear of Greenville. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Merck was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 4 sisters. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens. Funeral services will be held 3 PM Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Central with burial following at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens in Pickens.
