

Born on September 19, 1942, in Ancon, Panama, he was the son of the late George Arthur Thibodeau and Julia Applegate Thibodeau.
He honorably served in the United States Army before receiving his Doctorate in Philosophical Psychology from USC. He served as a Psychologist with the Greenville Mental Health System for over 33 years. He previously served as a leader in the Boy Scouts of America Explorer program and as a Deacon at First Christian Church. Peter had various artistic hobbies and found joy in woodworking and camping with his family especially. Peter instilled the values of love, faith, and hard work in his family, leaving a lasting legacy for generations to come.
He is survived by his children, Matthew Aaron Thibodeau and Heather T. Brownlee (Travis); his grandchildren, Kenadie Saylors (Casey), Poppy Brownlee, and Mattie Brownlee; and his great-grandchild, Taytum Saylors.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Constance Swails Thibodeau.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 3:30 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2410 Gentry Memorial Highway, Pickens, South Carolina 29671.
