

Don was born in Pickens County, the son of the late Ray W. Porter and Eunice Revis Porter. He retired with 47 years of service from TTI. He started his career with Singer and continued working in different responsibilities. Having attended Clemson University, he was a loyal Tiger fan.
He was an active member of Secona Baptist Church. He formerly served as a deacon, and on numerous committees, committed to his service for the Lord and what was best for Secona Baptist Church. He also served his country in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Katherine, two daughters, Susan P. Sill (David) and Debbie P. King (Ron) and three precious grandchildren, Emily Katherine Moore, Ronald Eric King (Megan), Andrew Donald King and special friend Hannah Owens. He was the foundation of his family and determined to do the best for each of them.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 28, 2019, from 1 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. in the Family Life Center of Secona Baptist Church with funeral services following at 3 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Secona Baptist Church Building Fund.
