Ray Calvin Hanson

Mr. Ray Calvin Hanson,
Pickens, SC – Mr. Ray Calvin Hanson, age 67, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 5, 2021. Mr. Hanson was born in Brevard, North Carolina and was the son of the late William Arthur Hanson and Nancy Owen Hanson.
Survivors include his two children Jason Hanson (Gavonda) and Tammy Garrett (Shane) both from Greenville, South Carolina; grandchildren Chase, Haley, Tyler, and Javon, as well as, a great grandchild Tucker, and one to be named Beckham that is on his way. Also surviving are three brothers and their wives: Jack Hanson (Donna) from Pickens, South Carolina, Joe Hanson (Lisa) and Benny Hanson (Shirley) both from Easley, South Carolina. Also a number of loving nieces and nephews along with his most special companion Kramer, his dog.
Mr. Hanson loved his fishing and kayaking trips to the lake. He would fish for bream and crappie and sometimes for the elusive bass. He grew up as a young boy doing motor cross trail riding on his dirt bike. He was affiliated with Washington Ave Baptist Church. He loved his family. Loved his cigars and enjoyed picking his guitars and the occasional bass.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday April 18th, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2410 Gentry Memorial Highway, Pickens, South Carolina 29671.

In Memory of
As young children, me, my sisters, and my brothers, loved playing with the Hanson boys and the Galloway boys. I have fond memories of Ray and all the other boys. He will dearly be missed.
