Robert Eugene Abercrombie

Pickens – Robert Eugene Abercrombie, 85, husband of Pauline Roper Abercrombie, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday November 23, 2017. Gene was born in Six Mile, a son of the late Robert Harrison and Cora Lee Thompkins Abercrombie. He was retired from Ryobi Motor Products in Pickens as maintenance supervisor and he was a member of Secona Baptist Church. He was a member of BoBo Ridge Beagle Club and formerly owned his own shop, Gene’s Garage. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Pauline of the home, daughters, Gloria Jean Turner, Debra Ann Evette (Dan), and Donna Lynn Daves (Douglas) all of Pickens, 4 grandchildren Amanda Nicholson (Bradley), Matthew Turner (Renee), Lacey Chappell (Jonathon) and Jonathan Daves (Jessica), 11 great grandchildren and a brother Charles William Abercrombie of Pickens. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by a sister Martha Emma Stone and brothers, Bobby Joe Abercrombie, and Fred Elton Abercrombie. The family will receive friends Sunday November 26, 2017 from 2 to 3:15 PM at Dillard Funeral Home with funeral services following at 3:30 PM in the funeral home chapel.
