Mr. Wilson was born in Pickens County, South Carolina on April 1, 1946, to the late Alma and Ruby Young Wilson. He was a graduate of Easley High School and had a career as a traffic engineer with the South Carolina Department of Transportation for over 30 years. He was a proud member of Cedar Rock Baptist Church. Where his beloved friend Wayne Garmon is Senior Pastor.
Mr. Wilson is survived by a blended family, two daughters: Kelly Nelms (Jim) and Allison Wilson; four step children: Angie Gillespie, Jennifer Reid, Randy Youngblood, and Michael Youngblood; grandfather to 10 grandchildren; and special friend Linda Davenport.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his wife Martha Ann Wilson.
A celebration of Rodney's life is planned for October 4, 2024 at 6:00 PM, it will be held at Cedar Rock Baptist Church located at 1667 Cedar Rock Church Rd, Easley, SC 29640.
The inurnment of Rodney's cremains, will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Easley, by the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cedar Rock Baptist Church.
