

Mrs. Dodson was born in Pickens County, SC on May 12, 1934 to the late Claude and Etta Swords Medlin. She retired after working at Woodside/Greenwood Mills with 32 years of service, and was a member of Calumet Baptist Church in Liberty. Mrs. Dodson was a sweet and precious soul that lived a long and fulfilling life. She loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren; and as she got older, she spoiled them as much as she could. Mrs. Dodson tried to make sure everyone, family and friends alike, were taken care of.
Mrs. Dodson is survived by her two daughters: Dianne Dodson Winkler of Liberty and Doris Dodson Smith (Van) of Easley; a son: Joseph Dodson of the home; two brothers: Guy Medlin and J.D. Medlin, both of Norris; a sister: Sarah Medlin Burns of Liberty; a sister-in-law: Margie Weems Medlin of Norris; her three grandchildren: Jennifer Winkler Richeson (Kyle) of Townville, Timothy Winkler (Erica) of Six Mile, and Phillip Winkler of Liberty; her eight great-grandchildren: Jake Richeson, Tyler Richeson (Emily), Brandon Richeson, Hunter Richeson (Jennifer), Caden Winkler, Josie Winkler, Henrik Winkler, and Afton Winkler; and her two great-great-grandchildren: Stetson Richeson and Stokes Richeson; and one great-great-grandchild due in May: Baby Richeson.
In addition to her loving husband of 66 years and her parents, Mrs. Dodson was preceded in death by her siblings: Roy Medlin and Lois Watson Medlin; two brothers-in-law: Eugene Burns and David Watson; a sister-in-law: Betty Weems Medlin; and her son-in-law: Douglas Winkler.
The family will host a memorial service to honor Mrs. Dodson's life at 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 29, 2023 in the Mausoleum Chapel at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens.
