

He is survived by his wife of 51 years: Mildred Proffitt, two daughters: Janice McDonald of Greenville and Sheila Chasteen (Grover) of Easley; four grandchildren: Eric Watkins (Leslie) of Dacusville, Chris Edwards of Easley, Kevin Watkins of Greenville, and Brooke Frederick (Jason) of Greer; three great-grandchildren; and a brother: Ernest Proffitt of Greenville, TN.
S.B. Was a loving, devoted, caring husband and father. He served two terms in the U.S. Army and was in active duty during the Berlin Crisis. S.B. retired from Nalley Construction Company where he worked for over 30 years. He loved being outdoors and could often be found in his workshop or his self-made "Man Cave" piddling on his latest project. S.B. had a profound love for Jesus and his hope and trust was always in the Lord.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Regency Hospice and extend their most sincere appreciation and gratitude to Josh and Tausha for their steadfast dedication and unwavering commitment to his care during the final year of his life.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 29, 2021 in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with the Rev. Ann Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM on Saturday, prior to the service, at Dillard Funeral Home.
