Born on June 24, 1921, in Cittanova, Italy, Theresa was the daughter of the late Rosa Gullace Maugeri and Thomas Maugeri. Growing up, she helped care for her seven brothers and one sister, a role that shaped her lifelong compassion and dedication to others.
Theresa was a devoted member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pickens, SC, where she faithfully volunteered wherever she was needed. She joyfully served through Meals on Wheels, the church Food Pantry, and Hope Women’s Center, where she lovingly knitted baby booties for new mothers.
A gifted artist, Theresa found joy in painting, drawing, knitting and crocheting, sharing her creativity freely with those around her. She was affectionately known as “everybody’s best friend” and lovingly called Noni not only by her family but by all who were blessed to know her. To many, she was the heart and “matriarch” of her community, a source of warmth, humor, and wisdom.
Theresa is survived by her children Angela (Ken), Elaine, Judy (Paul), and Thomas (Claire); ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her devoted husband of 65 years, Angelo H. Bravo; her seven brothers and sister; and her sons-in-law, John and Irving; and step-mother, Ana Maugeri.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hope Women’s Center of Easley, South Carolina, in honor of Theresa’s generous spirit and lifelong dedication to helping others. https://www.hopewomenscenterinc.org/donate
