Born on June 18, 1939, in Salters, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Reverend Henry Thomas and Helen Gilreath Jones.
Thomas was a devoted member of Calumet Baptist Church. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force for eight years before beginning a career in implement sales. His greatest joy came from the time spent with his family and the countless memories they made together. He will be remembered for his unwavering faith, devotion to his family, and dedicated service to his country.
Thomas is survived by his two daughters: Amy Jones Gregory (Stuart) and Amanda Victoria Jones Fenton (Kyle); two grandchildren: Noah Thomas Fenton and Kya Victoria Fenton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Vivian Couch Jones.
A visitation for Thomas will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Dillard Funeral Home Chapel, Pickens, South Carolina. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 10:00 am at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Pickens, South Carolina.
In Lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Hospice of the Foothills–Seneca, 390 Keowee School Road, Seneca, South Carolina.
