Gin was born in Pickens County on January 23, 1955 to the late Joe Landis and Alma Stephens Chastain. A woman with an amazing work ethic, she was a Realtor for the General Agency Real Estate Company and also recently retired as a school bus driver for the Pickens County School District. Her whole life revolved around caring for others, especially her grandchildren. This was shown through her work as a Guardian Ad-Litem in Pickens County. She was a member of Easley Church of God.
In addition to her loving husband of 49 years, Gin is survived by her two daughters: Regina Overby (Ray) of Liberty and Dana Moss (Steven) of Easley; her three grandchildren: Kyle Overby, Jayde Moss, and Elijah Moss; a brother: Marvin Chastain of Greenville; a sister: Wanda Woody (Ricky) of Easley; and two special nieces: Kayla Woody and Misty Woody. Gin also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, and a large extended family.
In addition to her parents, Gin was preceded in death by her daughter: Trena Bush; two sisters: Carolyn Chapman and Mary Ann Morris; and two brothers: Larry Chastain and Jimmy Chastain.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 22, 2021 in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Knight officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM on Sunday, prior to the services, at Dillard Funeral Home.
The family will be at their respective homes.
