Albert Ezra Baldwin, Jr. On May 15, 1954 a baby boy was born to Albert (Whitey) Baldwin and Nianza Merle Baldwin. He was known to most of his friends and family as Al, his beloved grandmother, Veda Jackson called him Albert, Jr. and many of his racing buddies called him, “Hoot”. At an early age, Al developed an appreciation of cars. He was practically raised in his father’s car dealership “City Auto Service” and the appreciation was mutual. Racing was an early passion and notably many said he could fix anything with a motor. On Monday, April 11, 2016 at 6:30 p.m., after many youthful grand adventures and setbacks, Al joined his mother and father in Heaven. He’d suffered a long illness and peace fills the hearts of those who loved and knew him. At one time in his life, Albert had a wife, Mary Lou, who recounts fond memories of his youth and their life together. Al and Mary Lou had a daughter, April, who in turn gave him a granddaughter, Isabelle Grace. Al called her “Baby Isabelle” even when she was no longer a baby. Al leaves behind his beautiful baby sister, Nancy Baldwin. Nancy and her husband, Tony, gave Al a niece, Jamie Leigh Reichert and a nephew, Joshua James Anthony Reichert who loved him dearly. Al was also a dog dad and now joins his beloved pet of many years, Abner in Heaven. Al loved cars, racing, animals, his family farm, jeans, t-shirts, cowboy boots, mountain dew and Pinnacle Drive-In hot dogs. He was a mechanic, an NHRA nationally recognized fuel funny car driver, driver of the Barbarian and Al’s Toy. He will be sadly missed. He was a dad, uncle, big brother, protector, son and papa. Just to name a few who will dearly miss him; Carolyn Clay, Nancy J. Baldwin, April and Bob White, Tony, Josh and Jamie Leigh Reichert. Rather than flowers, Al would prefer you to send donations to any organization dedicated to reducing suffering.
