

Betty Carol Chafin Betty Carol Chafin 75, of Pineville passed away Friday July 22, 2016 in Morgantown, following a long illness. Born February 8, 1941 in Mercer County she was the daughter of the late Ted and Myrtle Cecil Goode. Betty loved, being outdoors, spending time with her family, and supervising her gardening friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years William “Bill” Hayes Chafin, her two brothers James and Cecil Goode, one sister Mamie Moran, her daughter-in-law Sharon Chafin. Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Chris Chafin and his wife Mary of Morgantown, and Greg Chafin of Pineville. Six grandchildren Jessica Hammack, Spencer Chafin, Alyssa Chafin, Tessa Chafin all of Morgantown, Cheyanne and Whitney Chafin of Pineville, one brother Richard Goode of Beckley, one sister Loretta Lyons of Winfield, her brothers and sisters-in-law Lea Adkins of Pulaski Va, Johnny and Naoma Barrett of Elizabethtown Ky, Margaret Goode of Beckley, Joyce Goode of Pineville, and Roy Lyons of Winfield, and a host of nieces, nephews, and many beloved friends. Services will be held Monday July 25, 2016 at 6:00pm in the chapel of Calfee Funeral Service with Rev. Keith Reed officiating. Following the service and in keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated, and laid to rest in Stewart Cemetery at a later date. Friends may gather with the family from 4:00pm until service time Monday at the funeral home.
