Brenda Cochran

Brenda Joyce Phillips Cochran, 74 of Rock View passed with peace and grace on February 3, 2016; with her beloved family by her side. Born June 11, 1941 in Williamson. She was the daughter of the late, John Edward Phillips and Virginia Mae Phillips of Beckley. Brenda will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a special friend whose greatest passion was helping others. She was a member of Cook Memorial Baptist Church, she loved decorating and crafting, and spending time with family, friends, and loved ones. Left to cherish her loving memory is the love of her life Bobby Ray Cochran, of 56 years. Bobby devoted his life to the “Joy” of his life. He was a compassionate, nurturing, and supportive husband that never left her side ‘until death did they part’. After marrying the love of her life Bobby, she threw her energies into raising their children, a son Craig Steven Cochran (Las Vegas, Nevada), a daughter Anita Gail Robinson (Rock View). She is also leaving behind 3 grandchildren: Jesse Edward Cochran (Las Vegas, Nevada), Rebecca Paige Robinson and Taylor Jeremy Robinson (Rock View) whom will dearly miss her. She was preceded in death by a brother Kenneth Phillips, and her special grandmother (Mom) Rachael Ireson. The family would like to give special thanks to the wonderful, caring, and compassionate staff of nurses and doctors of Welch Community Hospital, for the remarkable care given to Brenda during her final battle, following her many years of her courageous fight with her long term illnesses. Services celebrating the life of Brenda will be held Saturday February 6, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Mausoleum of Palm Memorial Garden’s, Matheny, with Pastor Michael Knotts officiating. Friends may gather with the family from 6pm to 8pm Friday evening at Calfee Funeral Service in Pineville.
