

Eva Jean Mullens, 82, of Brenton went to be with the Lord Saturday July 2, 2016. Born January 12, 1934 in Wise County, VA she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Pearl Smith. Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Okey G. Mullens; four sisters and four brothers. Those left to cherish her memory are her three sons, Rodney Mullens and his wife Mary of Gilbert SC, Benny Mullens and his wife Lisa of Brenton, and David Mullens and his companion Connie Hill of Keyrock; one brother, seven grandchildren, Heather Mullens of Brenton, Tabitha Jo Mullens of Brenton, Kenneth Mullens and his wife Veronica of Gilbert SC, Jonathan Mullens and his wife Traci of Gilbert, SC, Melissa Haynes and her husband Tommy of Keyrock, Christopher Mullens and his wife Brittany of Boiling Springs, SC and Brianna Mullens of Brenton; six great grandchildren, Tyler Haynes, Cole Mullens, Jax Mullens, Caleb Mullens, Elisabeth Mullens and Ryker Mullens; four step grandchildren, Brayden, Jazmin, and Brooklyn Bailey and Summer Lawrence. And numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, July 6th at 1 pm at Calfee Funeral Service with the Rev. Lee Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at 11am until time of service. Pallbearers will be Steve Sammons, Johnny Sammons, Paul Browning, Raymond Walker and Brayden Lane. The family would like to give a special thanks to Landon Blankenship and his team at Hospice of Southern West Virginia. In lieu of flowers she ask that donations of nonperishable food item be make to 5 Loaves and 2 Fishes food pantry in McDowell County.
