

James A. Blankenship 82 passed away Saturday May 30, 2015 at Bowers Hospice. Born November 11, 1932, he was the son of the late Rev. James Greyson Morgan Blankenship and Cordia Mae Adkins Blankenship. Mr. Blankenship was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Essie Mae Blankenship on April 20, 2012 and a son, James Ray Blankenship who passed away in 1988. Mr. Blankenship was a retired coal miner of 39 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors include her daughter, Darla Dean Blankenship Stanley of Jesse, WV A granddaughter, Sheri Dean Brewster of Beckley A grandson, Johnta’ Austin Brewster of Beckley A grandson, Christopher Ray Blankenship of Georgia A granddaughter, Olivia Cassey Jackson of Georgia 5 great-grandchildren, Alexis Blankenship, Katilyn Adkins, Savanna Jackson, Harley Blankenship and Aaliyah Grady A celebration of James’ life will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at the Bower Family Cemetery, Twin Falls State Park with Minister Darla Dean Stanley and Rev. Doug Thorn officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the cemetery. He will be missed by family and friends. He’s resting now God’s love and care.
