
Ken Sigmon, 68, beloved husband, father and “pawpaw” went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 17, 2015. Born in Carswell, WV on October 19, 1946, he was a son of the late Everett Talton Sigmon and Lettie Mae Snow Sigmon. Ken was a US Army Veteran having served one tour of duty in Vietnam. He retired after 40 years of service with Appalachian Power Company and was a member of the Pineville First United Methodist Church. He loved bowling with his longtime friend, Sherman Taylor, playing cards with his best friends, Sharon and P.H. Calfee and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Ken loved his church and church family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Anderson and brothers-in-law, Charles “Pete” Anderson and Earl P. Doss. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 49 years, Brenda Sigmon; two daughters, Lisa Duty and her husband, Scott of Princeton; and Lori Salmons and her husband, Robert of Crab Orchard; granddaughter, Paige Blankenship and two grandsons, Cody Blankenship and Sean Salmons. He is also survived by two brothers: Everett T. Sigmon, Jr. and wife Connie of Carswell and Leland Sigmon and wife, Betty of Roanoke; two sisters, Jean Doss of Carswell and Carol Wilson of Colonial Heights, VA and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of Ken’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the Pineville First United Methodist Church with Pastor Sheri Kernik and Rev. Melissa White officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Wyoming County Honor Guard. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m.on Monday, July 20, 2015 in the Calfee Funeral Service Chapel.
