Mr. John Adkins

WELCH-PINEVILLE RD---Johnny Adkins,Sr. of Welch Pineville Rd. departed this life Wednesday December 9, 2015 at the age of 75, at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. Born October 18, 1940 in Sabine, WV, he was the son of the late Fred Adkins and Virginia Bailey Walker. Johnny was a lifelong resident of Wyoming County and was a construction worker. He was of the Christian faith and loved playing music in church. He was preceded in death by his first wife Betty Jean Adkins. Johnny is survived by his companion Judy Sutherland of the home, daughters Drema Dickens and her husband Tommy, of Dry Creek, Donna Blankenship and her husband, Lucas of Cyclone, Lisa Justice and her husband Mike, of Cyclone; sons: Johnny Adkins,Jr. of Cyclone, Steve Adkins and his wife, Carol of Cyclone, and Jerry Sutherland of the Welch-Pineville Rd ;his sister Louise Vance of Elgin, IL. Five grandchildren: Craig, Steve, Jessica, Ashley, Chase and four great-grandchildren: Curklund, Alex, Madeline, and Ashlynn, and several nieces and nephews.
