Nancy Gertrude Turpin

Nancy Gertrude Bedwell Turpin, 68 of Welch-Pineville Road, passed away March 30, 2016 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, following a short illness. Born June 9, 1947 at Pineville she was the daughter of the late Ed Bedwell and May Meadows. Nancy loved to cook, bake, work seek & find puzzles; had a dear love for Elvis and loved spending time with friends and family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Brent Eugene Sherrick and Earl Ray Pogue; a sister, Sylvia May Bedwell and brothers, Ed Frank Bedwell and Glen Bedwell. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Donna Sherrick Siblings, Diane Lane and her husband, Larry; Lorra Meadows and Lloyd Vannoy Combs and his wife, Paula An aunt, Madeline Meadows Her grandchildren, Alicia Sherrick and her daughter, Olivia Bowles, Nicholas Sherrick and Brent Sherrick and his daughter, Kaydence Lewis-Sherrick She is also survived by several step-grandchildren, Jeremy, Joshua, Rachael and Heather; along with many nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2016 at her family’s cemetery in Flat Top, WV, to be laid to rest with her mother and other family members. A memorial dinner will be held following the service at her niece and nephew, Jessica and Richard “Rick” Pernell, house on the Welch-Pineville Road where all her family and friends are invited to come, eat and reminisce.
