

Zola (Christian) Carter Duncan, 78, of Wyoming, entered into her Eternal Life In Heaven on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Appalachian Regional Hospital Born April 5, 1937 she was the daughter of the late Humphrey (Doc) and Ethel Christian Zola had been a resident and family member at Wyoming Continuous Care, New Richmond for the past four years. She was a member of the Wyoming Methodist Church. Zola loved caring for others, cooking and baking for her family and friends during her healthy years. She was known especially for her potato salad and cornbread by many and working with her flowers. Preceding her in death and welcoming her into Heaven is her husband, Walter Carter; husband, James (J.L.) Duncan; parents, Humphrey (Doc) and Ethel Christian; brothers, J. E. Christian, William (Arthur) Christian and Everette (Waitman) Christian; sister, Sadie Hatfield; special brother-in-law, Chester Angle and best friend, Helen Graham. Those left with a lifetime of memories are her daughters: Phyllis New of Wyoming; Carolyn (William-Bill) Stewart of Wyoming; special adopted daughter and friend, Yolanda Graham Step-son, James Duncan Jr. of Dandridge, TN Granddaughters, Ashley (Josh) Harper of Wyoming; Sara New and her finance, Mitch Mills of Parkersburg Great-grandchildren, Bryleigh Harper and Matthew Harper both of Wyoming Sisters, Ina (Robert) Adkins of Lebanon, OH and Wanda Angle of Brenton Aunts, Dessie Steele and Mag Kennedy Sisters-in-law, Edith Christian of Mullens and Eunice May of Gilbert Brother and sister-in-law, Thurman and Dot Duncan A celebration of Zola’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 24, 2015 at the Wyoming Methodist Church with Rev. Denny May, Zola’s nephew officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m., Thursday, April 23, 2015 in the Calfee Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny The family will serve as pallbearers.
