Passed away of natural causes on October 22, 2012. Mr. Thurman held a B.A. from Columbia University, where he became a championship water polo player, and a J.D. from William & Mary College. A renowned expert in medical ethics, Mr. Thurman was also an active educator and church deacon. He is survived by his parents, three sisters, four sons and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. A wake will be held at the Holiday Inn at University Center, 100 Lytton Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA on Saturday, October 27, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made in his name to The Children's Center, 6800 N.W. Expressway, Bethany, OK 73008 (www.tccokc.org). Mr. Thurman worked with his father to organize and develop this center into the state of the art facility it is today.
