Peacefully on Friday, November 28, 2014, age 93, of Observatory Hill, originally from Piedmont, SC. Wife of the late Samuel L. DiMatteo. Cherished mother of Samuel R. DiMatteo. Sister of the late Emily, Willene & Mary Terry. Devoted sister-in-law of Betty Crownover and the late Josephine Melodini. Also survived by loving nieces & nephews. Friends received Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the HEARD FUNERAL HOME, INC., 4047 Perrysville Avenue, Observatory Hill. Mass of Christian Burial at Incarnation of the Lord Parish, 4071 Franklin Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15214, Wednesday at 12 Noon. Burial will follow in Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery (North Side Catholic). Family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Assoc., 1701 North Beauregard St., Alexandria, Va 22311. Ann will always be remembered by family and friends as the gentle "Jewel" that she was.
