Christina M. Davis, age 50, of Ross Twp., passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2020. Born on November 23, 1969 in Fayetteville, NC she was the daughter of Col. (Ret) Gaylerd and Joan (Bryson) Davis of Taylors, SC.  In addition to her parents she is survived by her daughter Jessica (Welka) Kiefer and her husband Kyle Kiefer, by her son Joshua Welka all of Ross Twp.; and by her brother Robert Davis and his wife Jennifer Baker of Taylors, SC.

Christina was very proud to call herself an “army brat” and grew up moving with her parents to many different posts in the US and abroad. She made lasting friendships in every place with her outgoing, kind and giving personality. After several years of employment as a care giver at local nursing homes Christina became a house mom devoted to her children. She was an avid sports fan, loved nature, and animals. She was an active volunteer and organizer of events to support school and community sports programs.

The family wishes to give special thanks to the staff of the Fourth Floor Hillman transplant unit and the staff of Six West, Shadyside Hospital for their wonderful care of Christina during her illness. Their kindness and love will never be forgotten.

A celebration of life service will be on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at the H.P. Brandt Funeral Home Inc., 1032 Perry Hwy. Friends will be received from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 to be followed by a private service.

Dear Chrissy,
I am blessed to have met you, if only briefly. In such a short time in Germany, you left an imprint on my heart. I did not get to know you like the rest but know that I share their love for you and in all that you are. And now as you rest in peaceful slumber, your memory lives on. You are a beautiful soul souring free with the Angels watching over those you love.
All my love,
Mee-Mee 🥰

Dear Chrissy,
I have opened and closed this web page at least 20 twenties times a day to try to figure out how to exactly sum up our 38 year friendship. it is hard to believe my son is the same age now when I first met you the "girl next door".in Ft. Bragg, NC. I am sure there were days when our moms did not think our "teaming up " was such a great idea. Then your family's tour was over and you moved to Germany. Our moms thought they were in the clear, but someone(Thank you God) had a different idea. We moved to the same town and the rest was history.

Though after high school, we moved on and began our own lives. All the experiences we shared helped me be a better person, mother, and officer (cause I do know what trouble can happen when teens are left to their own devices..my kids don't stand a chance). Your dad has even offered to give Rob pointers on how to chase down teens who sneak out at night.

Your unconditional love, understanding, and determination helped me to keep moving forward, even on days when staying in bed was the easier option.

You fought the good fight and we are all proud of you, "Well Done"! Please watch out for my children and be their Guardian Angel.

Love Jenny (your little sister now and forever)

Dear sweet Chrissy! I am so proud to have been an " Army Brat" along side you and so many of our friends, experiencing life together as teenagers in Germany...the good, the bad, and the ugly. Oh the mischief we did get into! We learned how to have friends, how to be a friend, and how to love unconditionally. We all went on to be productive adults, raising families of our own and no matter the distance or the years between connections, we always seemed to pick up where we left off. I will forever be grateful to your children and parents for unselfishly giving us a few days of your precious time. You made us promise to stay in touch with one another and to be there for your children if they need us...that, my friend, will be my great pleasure! I love you and will cherish our memories forever!
Jen-Jen 😘

May fond memories of Chrissy bring you comfort during this very hard time. After fifteen months of ups and downs we know that Chrissy is now at peace. May all of you, also, in time find the peace that passes all understanding. My heart and prayers go out to all who loved her, now and in the days to come.

Love to all.

Words could never adequately express my love for you all. As I shared with each of you Chris has been such an inspiration to Sandy and me, and she has significantly impacted my life with her courage and faith. We continue to pray for each of you and know that the celebration of life on Tuesday will only be a snapshot of the forever celebration in all of your hearts and ours as well. Thank you for allowing me to feel a part of such a special family. I love you all and can't wait to see you again soon. May God's blessings surround you! Tony and Sandy
