Dexter C. Carey

Dexter C. Carey, 92, of Ross Township, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. He was born on May 18, 1932, in Marblehead, Massachusetts to the late Albert and Carrie (Stever) Carey. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia (Wilson) Carey in 2007.

He was a retired electrician for the North Hills School District, he was also retired from the US Army where he served from 1949 to 1971.

He enjoyed dressing up as Santa and surprising children.

He is survived by his children, Timothy (Laurie) Carey of Texas, Dexter Carey of Parker, PA., Colleen (Gene Nine) Schwartz of Ross Twp., Jean Carey of Shaler, and Constance (Joe) Borowitz of Gibsonia. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Brothers Robert (Theresa) Carey of New Hampshire and John (Joann) Carey of Florida.

He was Preceded in death by son Daniel Carey, three brothers Albert, Louis and Henry, a sister Alice Leclerc.

Friends will be received Tuesday, January 21st from 2-4pm and 6-8pm where a service will be conducted on Wednesday, January 22nd at 11:00am at the H.P. Brandt Funeral Home, 1032 Perry Hwy, Pgh.

Internment to follow at Mt Royal Cemetery.
