Dolores "Dorie" Dugan

Dolores Irene (Harvey) Dugan of Cochranton, PA Crawford County formerly of Avalon, PA On Sunday April 18, 2021 Dolores Irene (Harvey) Dugan, age 90 was called to rest with her beloved family. She was born on February 10, 1931 in Pittsburgh, PA Allegheny County.

She was preceded in death by her father William Harvey, mother Leona (Burns) Harvey, husband Robert. L. Dugan Sr, son Robert L. Dugan Jr, daughter Dee Ann Dugan and son Michael L. Dugan, brother William Harvey, sister Gladys Cloonan, sister Mary Kalchthaler, sister Sarah Harvey and brother John (Jack) Harvey.

She is survived by her brother Chuck (Donna) Harvey, grandchildren Shane Dugan (fiancé Molly Snyder), Sean Dugan and Nicole, Michael, Alysha, Kyle Dugan. Her daughter in law Tina Dugan and son-in-law Raymond Miller, plus many nieces and nephews.

Dorie took pride and enjoyed her farm, growing vegetables, fruits, canning, mowing the property and keeping it picturesque. She loved hard, protected all and cared for both patients and family. She graduated from Oliver High School in 1949 and then received her RN degree from the South Side Hospital of Pittsburgh School of Nursing in 1953. Dorie followed her husband in the military and was hired in many hospitals throughout the country as a nurse. Her last nursing position was at the former Bellevue Suburban General Hospital as a head nurse. She was very professional, caring, and knew her patients inside and out catering to their needs. Her greatest accomplishment was when she left nursing to join her husband moving from Avalon to their beloved farm to become a full time caregiver to him in his time of need. She will be forever missed by many family members and friends.
