Dorothy and Jim were active members of Northmont United Presbyterian Church for 60 years. She worked on many Triangle class activities, and was active in Presyterian Women, Northmont Bridge as well as numerous church dinners, corn roasts and other church functions. Her church and her church family were at the heart of her spiritual and social life. I had the pleasure of growing up with Debbie Dickson; we lived in the same neighborhood and attended the same church and youth group. Hanging out at the Dickson home was the best; there were always lots of fun activities and kids galore. Dorothy and Jim were close friends with my parents, Don and Gerry Tanner, and they played in a monthly bridge group together for decades. Whenever the grownups left, we always got to eat the leftovers, and that was a big deal for us kids back in the day. I loved having the entire Dickson family in my neighborhood, and that is the neighborhood where I chose to live and raise my own family, and where grown-up kids also live . I think about these great memories every time I drive past the Dickson house on Fox Ridge Road, and am thankful for the blessings we all shared together. Dorothy and Jim will be missed by all of us. Love and prayers to Debbie and Barbie and your husbands and kids and grandkids.
