
Edward N. Wilson, Sr., age 86 of Ross Township, went quietly into the hands of the Lord, on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, surrounded by loving family. Ed was born in 1930 in Baltimore, MD, where he met the love of his life Margaret "Elaine" (Brenner) Wilson at a dance at the YWCA. Their 64 years of married life together lives on through their children, Arlene (Steve) O'Brien, Nancy Wise, Ed (Pam McNally) Wilson, Jr. and grandchildren Caroline and Christopher Wise. Ed will be sorely missed by all including his sister, Marilyn Mink; numerous nieces, nephews, close extended family, as well as co-workers and Heritage Church family. He was preceded in death by his sisters; Gloria Michaels, Phyllis Greene and son-in-law, Peter Wise. Ed was raised on a farm in Maryland by a loving foster family. Ed served in the United States Marines Reserves. During his lifetime he had various jobs, including insurance salesman, claims adjuster at B&O/C&O Railroad ending up in Pittsburgh. He finished his career at Sears for 26 years where he enjoyed his coworkers and serenading all. He co-founded Employment Anonymous at Heritage Church. He received the 2016 Experimenter Emeritus Award for selfless dedication to the mission of the Pittsburgh Experiment over many years. He also loved gardening, spending many years planting and tending to the flowers in his yard and neighborhood entranceways. Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8 PM Friday at the H.P. Brandt Funeral Home, Inc., 1032 Perry Highway, Ross Township, (412-364-4444). Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 AM in the Heritage United Presbyterian Church, 2262 Rochester Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237 (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Burial will follow in Allegheny County Memorial Park, Allison Park. Family suggests memorial donations to the Pittsburgh Experiment or the Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford.
