

Dr. Elaine Lees, 70, of Ingomar, on April 4, of complications from colon cancer. Elaine was the daughter of Merle Lees and Marymartha Turner. She was a graduate of North Allegheny High School, Keuka College, and the University of Pittsburgh. Elaine worked as a grants writer for the Pittsburgh Public Schools and as a professor at Carlow University's Hill College, and was an avid volunteer for the Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force and for the Keuka College Class of 1968. She was predeceased by her parents, by her beloved aunts Dottie and Ethel, and by many friends. She is survived by her husband, Andrew Gurcak, her daughter, Jessica (Robert) Sedgewick, and her grandchildren, Henry, Peter, and Rose Sedgewick.
