Florence G. Winkler, 97, of Avalon, on Friday, January 20, 2012. Beloved wife of the late Henry Winkler, Sr. Loving mother of Henry Harold, Jr. and Doug (Mary Jean) Winkler; Proud grandmother of nine grandsons ; great-grandmother of nine and great-great-grandmother of three; sister of Grace Shaffer. Preceded in death by seven brothers and 7 sisters.
Florence was a longtime volunteer for the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust and also the Second Time Around Thrift Shop at the Greenstone UM Church.
Friends received Sunday 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Inc., 1014 California Ave., Avalon 412-766-5600, where funeral service will be held Monday 10am. Interment to follow at Allegheny County Memorial Park, Allison Park. In lieu of flowers donations suggested to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
