Preceded in death by her husband, Robert W Smiley, she was much loved by her children, Jack Smiley, Barbara Smiley Schaaf, Dan Smiley, Rob Smiley, and Katherine Smiley Donovan. Pink delighted in the love of her grandchildren, Mary Kate Weinkopf, Bob Smiley, Emily Schmitz, Lindsey Schaaf, Matt Schaaf, and her great grandchildren, Monica, Kolbe, Danny, Joe, Katie, Sebastian, Luke, John and Elisa.
Pink was the daughter of Hollis and Nora Baker, sister of Bob, Bud and his wife Diane, Dan and his wife Carole, and Dave and his wife Sally.
Pink raised her family in Berkeley Hills and attended the Hiland Presbyterian Church.
Although famous for her oatmeal cookies, Halloween costumes, and popcorn balls, she was also an athlete, an avid collector of antiques and books, a painter, a sculptor, and a lover all of things wild and wonderful in nature. Pink listened to music from classical to jazz to rock and roll, and was, of course, a true Steeler fan. She loved the lakes of Rockford, the woods of Pittsburgh, and the beaches of St Maarten.
A celebration of her life will be held at Sherwood Oaks, in Cranberry Township Pennsylvania, on March 2, 2013, at 1pm. Her family extends an invitation to that celebration for all who loved her.
Known for her wonderful smile, and her ability to make all around her feel loved, Pink asks that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Northland Public Library or the Hiland Presbyterian Church.
Arrangements entrusted to the H.P. Brandt Funeral Home, Inc., 1032 Perry Hwy, Ross Twp, 412-364-4444. Condolences may be offered at www.brandtfuneralhome.com.
