George E. Nicoll Jr.
February 7, 1944 – October 11, 2020
George Nicoll passed away at home on Sunday morning, October 11, 2020 at the age of 76. His parents were George Nicoll, Sr. and Eleanor Doyle Nicoll. Born February 7,1944, he spent his life in Swissvale, Erie, and Sheraden. After his mother's passing when George was 7, he was raised by his sister Gertrude Carr. After marriage in 1986, he lived in Ross Township. After graduation from high school, he attended technical school. He worked for Miller Printing Press for 20 years. He married Patricia Huckestein in 1986 and inherited 4 stepchildren: Mark (Heather), Michael, Teresa (Ed Old) and Diane Hollenback.
As life progressed, there were eight grandchildren: Liza; Emily and Alicia Geissinger, Chris Old (Samantha); Anthony James Hollenback, Zachery Hollenback, Mark Jr. and Mason George Geissinger and, Layla Rose Geisinger; four great-granddaughters, Liza, and Lena Geissinger, Aubree and Allison Old.
Around age 40, he received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. This was the most significant event of his life. He went to Bible school, and the Word of God was deep in his spirit. George was an elder at Abundant Life Church in McKees Rocks and Imperial for many years. He met his wife Pat at the church in McKees Rocks. Next to God, she was the most important person in his life for 34 years. She referred to him as the most marvelous man in the world who could do anything, and they shared a great and full life. A great outdoorsman, George was an avid hunter, especially deer and small game, even sharing this passion by teaching his wife Pat the sport. He also enjoyed fishing and camping, especially at his favorite vacation spots of Moraine, Pymatuning and Presque Isle State Parks.
He is greatly missed by his family and friends. Memorial services will be held Sunday, November 15, 2020 at 2 PM in Allison Park Church - North Side, 3035 Perrysville Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15212. Friends and family are welcome!
