Jean W Loehr

Jean W. Loehr, age 87, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2014, at St. John's Specialty Care Center in Mars, PA. Beloved wife of 66 years to Richard S. Loehr; loving mother of Charles R. Loehr (Mary) of Olney, MD and Linda Hudec (John) of Mayville, NY; grandmother to Colin C. Loehr (Louise) of Baltimore, MD; and great-grandmother to Sofia and Andrew of Baltimore, MD. Jean was a Sunday School teacher for many years and despite being a survivor of cancer for 46 years, was president of the Para- Profession Organization in the North Allegheny School District where she worked as a teacher's aide for many years. Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the H.P. BRANDT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1032 Perry Hwy., Ross Twp., 412-364-4444. Jean was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in the North Hills, where Services will be held Friday 11 a.m., Pastor Michael Robinson, officiating. Burial will follow in the Cemetery of St. John's Lutheran Church of Highland on Cumberland Rd. in the North Hills. The family suggests that those wishing to make a memorial gift may donate to St. John's Specialty Care Center or the Catholic Hospice. The family will be forever grateful for the gift and the love and concern provided by these stellar organizations.
