Born on October 13, 1933 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of John and Hilda Kolarik. She worked for many years at Gulf Oil and later as a secretary for a landscaping company.
She was everyone’s Aunt and everyone’s favorite neighbor.
Joan was known for her generosity with both her family and friends. She happily supported multiple animal shelters and organizations. She had such a love for outdoor activities such as hiking, and snow skiing even into her mid-seventies, and of course, all things cats!
Joan is survived by her Brother John R. Kolarik of Portersville, her three nephews, Thane Kolarik and his wife Shirley, Brett Kolarik and Darren Kolarik. Also by her many great and great-great nephews and nieces and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Geyer and both of her parents.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, December 29th, 2025 from 10 AM - 12 Noon at H.P. Brandt Funeral Home located at 1032 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA, 15237, followed by a memorial service given by her great nephew, Pastor Jordan Kolarik.
In lieu of flowers, please consider any contributions to go to the organization FosterCat, INC. of Pittsburgh. She’d like that. Thank you.
