John Francis "Jack" Coppola, age 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday October 10th 2026 at Masonic Village in Sewickley, PA. Born February 5, 1935 in Mt. Pleasant, PA. Jack worked at Frick Hospital for 35 years before retiring and moving to Bellevue, Pa in 1998. Jack was an avid fan of the Pirates and Steelers, enjoyed a Sunday matinee at his local movie theater, and was the proud uncle to three nephews, three nieces, 21 great-nephews and nieces, and 25 great-great-nephews and nieces. He was affectionately referred to as "Uncle Jack" by all.
Jack's true passions were talking and eating. If he was not busy enjoying home-cooked meatballs with rigatoni he was almost certainly chatting with his family, his neighbors, or anyone who might be in earshot. He could recount details of your last meeting you may have forgotten but he was glad to remind you of ( more than once, if that was helpful). He was naturally affable and forever armed with a big belly laugh to punctuate his conversations. If there was an award for Most-Likely-To-Befriend-Strangers-At-A-Bus-Stop, you can be sure Uncle Jack would be a contender.
Jack cherished time with family and family traditions, from Sunday pasta dinners with his parents to holiday celebrations with his extended family. If there was laughter to be had and food to be shared, he was there, reveling in the company of those he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Rose Coppola of Mt. Pleasant, and his older brother Matthew Coppola Jr., of Pittsburgh.
Friends will be received at H.P. Brandt Funeral Home 1032 Perry Hwy Pittsburgh PA 15237 on Saturday October 17th from 10 AM- 1 PM with a service beginning at 1.
