Kathy, Mom to her children, lived a life filled with love, purpose, and joy. Mom had a way of making ordinary moments feel special through kindness, humor, hard work, and the care given so freely to family, friends, and everyone blessed to know her.
For many years, our mom gave so much to our family. After we were grown, she finally allowed herself the time and freedom to enjoy outside activities she longed to do for herself. She took up line dancing, painting, and music, embracing each one with joy and expression. She danced with happiness, painted her world, and charmed others with music until the very end.
One of the greatest examples of our Mom’s strength was the perseverance shown while caring for our father as he suffered from Alzheimer’s. Each day was faced with patience, devotion, courage, and love. Through some of life’s most difficult moments, our Mom gave our father comfort, dignity, and steady care. That devotion was a beautiful reflection of her commitment, compassion, and unwavering heart.
One of our mother’s greatest accomplishments was the life built and the love given. She was proud of her family, and we were so proud of her. Strength was shown through challenges, grace was shown in the way people were treated, and joy was shown in the way each day was lived.
Mom will be remembered not only for all that was done, but for the way we, her children, felt in her presence — loved, supported, welcomed, and at home. Her memory brings both tears and smiles, and the love, lessons, and spirit of Mommy will be carried with us always, in every dance, every brushstroke, every song, and every memory we hold close.
Mom leaves behind five children, Kathy (Mark), Ed (Patty), Stephanie (Don), Jackie (Mark), David (Kelly), 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Mom was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Ed, son-in-law Curt Ferri, brothers, Steve Williams and Bobby Stahovic and of course her parents Steve and Catherine Stahovic.
