Kenneth R. Rooney

92 of Hampton, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2015. Beloved husband of Loretta (Weidner) Rooney; brother-in-law of Richard (Jean) Weidner; uncle of Chris (Dave) McFarlane and Michael (Joanna) Weidner.

He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, a 50 year member of the Free and Accepted Masons, a veteran of World War II, having proudly served in the United States Navy. He served aboard the USS Calcydny, in the Pacific aboard the USS Shangri-La CV-38 on Admiral John S. McCain’s Staff Task Force 58 until war’s end. He was a member of the Shangri-La Reunion Association, the Navy Club of Pittsburgh Ship No. 720. He was a certified Purchasing Manager and a lifetime member of the National Association of Purchasing Management, ISM. His career path included Rockwell, Westinghouse, Fisher Scientific and Martin-Marietta
