I still am having a hard time believing that my 'baby sister' is gone. I was sure that she would outlast all of us. She had a hard life, eased by having wonderful, caring children who looked after her.

I would like to think that she is now 'upstairs' somewhere with mother and dad and maybe laughing and running with Blackie and Ruffy.

Our family felt like we hit the jackpot when my oldest brother married Cindy. As a teenager, they graciously let me tag along with them on a few visits to Pittsburgh. I always loved talking with Mrs. Simmons. She always made me feel special and included. Now I have four children of my own...and she always had the sweetest way with them when they saw her in Mechanicsburg. Her three children loved her endlessly, and gave of themselves tirelessly....and what a gift that was. She will surely be missed. All the comfort to you...Bobby, Randy and Cindy.

We will deeply miss you Mom. As a single working mother that re-entered the workforce in mid-life, you single-handedly supported and loved the three of us from our adolescence, putting dinner on our table each night no matter what it took, all the while keeping your brand of silliness and humor alive in our home and our hearts. Love from us all, Bobby

That Lila was special is clearly evidenced by how well her children loved and cared for her to the very end. Randy, Cindy and Bob, you all did an amazing job of doing nice things for your mother, and I am sure she will be eternally grateful for all you have done.
