

McCandless
Lois Marie (Smoker) Jencka, age 94, on Sunday June 7, 2026 at Perry Health & Rehabilitation. She was born October 14, 1931, daughter of the late Mary Louise (Griger) and Joseph James Smoker. Lois grew up in Overbrook, attending St. Norbert Grade School and St. Francis Academy graduating in 1949. She married Francis (Frank) Valentine Jencka on January 20th 1951 and celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2001 preceding the death of her beloved husband. Lois worked for the Pittsburgh Public Schools as a library aide before taking a job at the Duquesne Light Company where she retired after 25 years of service.
Lois was the proud mother of five children. David (Karen) Jencka of Ambridge, Mary Ellen (Tom) Moeller of McCandless, Theresa (Frank) Fischer of McCandless, Michael Jencka(the late Lana) of Ross, and the late Francine Jencka Konen. Lois never ceased giving of herself to all of us. She was a wonderful grandmother to Donald(Jennifer)Konen, Jana(Chris) Brune, Bryon(Misty)Konen, Jeffrey Jencka, Daniel(Breann)Jencka, Christine(Jon) Caruana, Joseph(Heidi)Moeller, Tracey(John)Marshall, Lauren(Nate)Szymkowiak, the late Michael Moeller, and Kara Hildebrant. Great Grandmother to Devyn, Dylan, & Ava Konen, Ashley, Julie, & Megan Luper, Collier Brune, Tyler, Braxton, & Chase Konen, Jocelyn Jencka, Helena, Grant, & Timothy Caruana, Jackson, Liliana, & Matthew Moeller, and Emma Szymkowiak. Sister of the late Donald Smoker, Evelyn (Ken) McDonnell, and Ronald (Kyong Hui survives) Smoker. Also surviving many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Lois had many talents. She was a great cook & baker. She enjoyed painting and loved various arts & crafts. She loved shopping and spending time at The Rivers Casino. She was a member and a tour leader for the Perrymont North AARP #2291. A devout Catholic member of St. Aidan Parish/St. Alexis Church.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 11th from 2:00-8:00 p.m. in the H.P. Brandt Funeral Home Inc. 1032 Perry Highway, Ross. Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10:00 a.m.at St. Alexis Church, Wexford, with Fr. D.J. Egan as celebrant. Burial in Allegheny County Memorial Park, Allison Park.
