Of the North Hills passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on February 24, 2021. Mario, affectionately known as Honey, Daddy or Pappy, was born in Bellevue, PA in 1924. Mario is survived by his wife, MaryBelle, the love of his life for over 62 years; his daughters Mary Aloise (North Hills); Marla (Thomas) Grom (Wexford); grandchildren Melissa (Joseph) Goetz (West View), Benjamin (Kayla) Grom (Gibsonia), Kristen (Bryan) Nagy (Cranberry); and great-granddaughter Emilia Grom. Preceded in death by his mother Ruth Aloise and sister Gloria Weis.
Mario was a WW II veteran and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He also was a glazier for H.B. Reynolds, Pittsburgh Plate Glass, and Watson Standard for 38 years and is a member of the Glazier’s Architectural Metal and Glass Workers’ Local Union 751.
Mario was a long time Yankee’s fan, enjoyed the music of Johnny Cash, singing “Be Mine” to MaryBelle, and beating anyone that dared to play a game of checkers with him. Above all, Mario loved spending time with his family, creating many memories that will be cherished forever.
A private ceremony was held for Mario at H.P. Brandt Funeral Home.
