

Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Fencak and husband of 64 years, John.
Mildred has been a residence of the North Hills and a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church for over 81 years. She attended the original orange brick school beside the church and then graduated from St. Benedicts Academy. She then graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse and kept her license active her entire life. After raising her children, she worked at Ohio Valley Hospital and St. Johns A.D. Center. She then dedicated herself to taking care of her mother and later her husband. Her motto was “Always the Nurse”. She always enjoyed her annual reunions with her fellow nursing students and friends to reminisce. Mildred enjoyed reading, gardening, bird watching, traveling and music, especially the piano. She was a good piano player and attending church. Her favorite trip was to Ellis Island to trace her ancestry.
She is survived by her children, Jeff (Cathy) Fodor, Christine (Tony) Montini, Mary Ellen (Darrell) Saunders, James (Linda) Fodor and Kathleen Smith; Grandsons, Ryan, Sam, Michael Andrew, Ben, Joshua and Adam, Sweet great grandchildren, Evangeline and twins, Michael and Maddelena.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Thursday, December 30th at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish-St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 800 Avila Ct. Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
