Nancy L. Hickey

February 7, 1944October 29, 2020

Nancy L. (Marinack) Hickey, age 76, formerly of Penn Hills, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Wexford House. Born February 7, 1944 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Anna (Chunta) Marinack. Preceded in death by her beloved husband and best friend John J. Hickey; she is survived by her loving children John C. Hickey of Zelienople and Kathleen Ann Daniels and her husband Scott of Neshannock Township in New Castle; grandchildren Kayla & Johnny Hickey, and Connor & Meghan Daniels; sister Antoinette Sharp; nephew Ronnie Sharp and niece Linda Sharp.

Nancy was a former office manager at a market research company located in the Monroeville Mall. She loved watching her soap operas and was obsessed with watching CNN and reruns of Law & Order. She loved the days that her and her husband would take long rides on their Harley Davidson or Gold Wing motorcycles. She always said those were some of the best days of her life – being so free and riding for hours. Throughout her life, Nancy mainly kept to herself and devoted her life to her late husband and their children. Nancy was a loving wife and was married to her best friend for over 56 years. Nancy and John were 2 peas in a pod and made only for each other. In the end, Nancy’s wish was just to be with the love of her life again.

Friends invited Monday, November 2nd from 12:00-2:00 PM and 5:00 until time of a Blessing Service @ 7:30 PM at the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Inc., 1014 California Ave., Avalon. Burial will be private.

I meant Nancy 21 years ago when my son Scott started dating her daughter Kathleen . She was cheerful, friendly, intelligent, humorous , very sociable--a delight to be around. We shared several social events, some holiday meals and many laughs over the earlier years. Even with her health declining , her devotion and dedication to her husband John , was boundless. In many ways, Nancy was a very strong woman. May her loved ones take comfort knowing she is at peace once again now that she is reunited with her husband in heaven.
