At age 78, Patricia C. Tate (Patty) passed away on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2021. Fitting for a woman that had such a huge heart. She was a loving mother to Patricia (Whitmer) Schneider and Kimmy Whitmer. Very proud Granny of Beatrice and Lena Schneider; Daughter of the late William and Clara Tate; sister of Carol Megahan (Ralph Megahan) and William Tate (Mary Ann Tate). Also survived by her loving niece, Jeanine Ayers and her nephews, Michael, Matthew and Patrick Megahan and Daniel, William and Joseph Tate, and her son-in-law, John Schneider. She was a dear friend to all who knew her. Patty spent her life working in the airlines and ended her career with USAir. She loved to travel. She always had an entrepreneurial spirit and created and sold jewelry as a side business most of her life. She was a true woman of faith and loved her church, Assumption. Patty loved her daughters and was especially devoted to her special needs daughter Kimmy. Patty shined even brighter as a Granny. Her passions included gardening, all types of wildlife, but especially feeding her birds and raccoons, sewing and making costumes for her granddaughters, rescuing cats, playing piano, playing Scrabble with her beloved sister Carol, playing cards and Rummikub with her daughter and granddaughters nightly, going out for drives with Kimmy to find special rocks, and going out to dinner with her family. Throughout her life, Patty had the ability to make everyone feel loved and special. She was the most kind and gentle Irish soul you could ever know. Her life gave her so many challenges and she met every one with grace and dignity. She will be missed greatly. Services will be at H.P. Brandt Funeral Home, Thursday, February 18th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00. Catholic Burial Mass at Assumption Church in Bellevue at 10:00 AM, Friday, February 19th. In lieu of flowers donations should be made in her name to the Verland Foundation or Assumption Church in Bellevue.

I was 4 yrs old when I moved across the street from Patti. She gave me the nickname, Nicky. That was over 70 yrs ago. She gave me an education in being a Catholic and what it meant to her. At age 20 I became a Catholic. She really change my life. Thank you Patti, rest in peace for I know you are in heaven.

I am truly blessed to have been friends with Patty and her family for 38 years. Such a loving and caring person. As she gained her angel wings, I know she is taking care of all the other angels just like she did with everyone who touched her life. In mine, she celebrated many happy moments with me, was there for me during challenges, always supportive, a mentor, teacher, an inspiration and had huge loving heart. I will miss her so much & cherish the memories. Prayers for comfort and peace for family and friends. God Bless🙏 With love, Carol & Jeff

Patty Tate was many things - helpful, funnny, fun-loving, cheerful despite her own problems. Above all, she was kind. Patty ran toward the problems long before it was trendy to do so. Over many years, she was truly a friend - who could also get you a great deal on jewelry or even a job. We will miss the dinners, the laughs and most of all Patty.
Rest in peace, dear friend.

Thank you Patty. You will be so missed. I'm so grateful that I was your one USAir person you were able to get employed with the Airline. Thank you for your effort on my behalf. It was well deserved. I served 20years proudly for the company and the employees through the union. Thank you for the opportunity, faith and love for people. Yes, Valentine's Day is very fitting for you to bid us farewell. You loved all of God's creatures

Patty,

I am so sorry to hear about your mother's passing. She was a wonderfully kind woman who I will always have fond memories of. She always brought a smile with her when she would pop into the office and made it a point to see how I was doing. Not to mention her help in finding me the perfect engagement ring for my wife over a decade ago.

She was truly a selfless woman and will certainly be missed.

Sending prayers your way from the McCurry family.
