

Pat is survived by Linda C. Murphy, his fiancé and loving companion for 26 years; daughters Lisa, Lori and Lynette Ciardulli of Jacksonville, FL, granddaughter Loredana Frana of Jacksonville, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Mary and Dominic Ciardulli, and sisters Sara Marchionna (Tony) and Alma Dresel (Carl).
Born in Vandergrift, PA. Pat served in the United States Navy from 1953-1957, as a Hospital Corpsman in Port Lyautey, Africa, and at the Bethesda Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Md. Following four years in the Navy, Pat attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania, earning a B.S. degree in Biology and later a Masters’ degree from Boston College.
Pat taught science and biology for 34 years at schools in Westmoreland County including Elders Ridge, Apollo Ridge, Washington Township and Kiski Area High school.
Pat loved all sports and relished his 20 years coaching boys’ basketball at both Washington Township and Kiski Area schools. He was an avid fisherman, bowler, tennis player and golfer. He enjoyed many years playing golf at the Willowbrook Country Club in Apollo and the Vandergrift Golf Course, as well as many winters in Ft. Myers, Fl. He was, of course, a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates.
Friends will be received on August 4 at the H.P. Brandt Funeral Home, 1032 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, Pa., 15237, from 1 p.m. 3 p.m. followed by a memorial service and buffet. Funeral will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Animal Friends, 562 Camp Horne Road Pittsburgh, PA 15237, or to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
