many works he built from wood and nails. He carefully maintained a

stable foundation for his family, both practically and in planning for

the future. He took comfort in the garden and in his workshop, but only

after hours of effort and upkeep.

Paul had a deep respect for craftsmen, learned during his formative

years in Johnsonburg PA. He would establish his family and house in the

North Hills of Pittsburgh, and resided in McKnight Village for forty

nine years. To see his house was to know him, as so much of it was

shaped by his design and singular talent for giving new life to

discarded wood, metal, and stone. He was always ready to share his

expertise, and showed love through works more than words.

Baseball was Paul's passion, as a player in his youth and a fan later

on. He loved golf, and hated golf, depending on whether he sliced his

tee shot into the trees on the ninth hole at Rittswood. For a

Johnsonburg boy, and a Pittsburgh fan, sports were exciting and full of

heroes, and that boy remained in Paul his whole life.

He was the youngest and last surviving sibling of brothers George, Gene,

and Gary, and sisters Kay, Mae, and Florence.

Paul is survived by his wife of fifty four years Joan, son Joel,

daughter Laura, and grandchildren Maury, Abram, Olive, Eila, and Ewan.

He will be missed and remembered.
