She married Leonard Quatman on June 16, 1962. Soon after, the couple were blessed with their three children. Their forever home was in Laurel Gardens. Her children remember her as a kind, gentle, and patient mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals and to always follow their beliefs. Phyllis is known to be the heart of the family with her purity and selfless love, and was always reminded of this by her family. During her younger years she was very proud of her accomplishments, aside from her husband and children. She loved writing poetry and had a poem published when winning a poetry contest in high school. She won May Queen in her later years of high school due to her elegance and kindness. She won a typing contest and was offered a position in New York City as a high-class secretary due to her astonishing skills and beauty. She was most proud of her years working at Vincentian Nursing Home and Fox Chapel Country Club as a waitress because she was a caregiver at heart and was able to care for others most through these two careers. Michael, ex son in law, parent of 3 grandchildren of Phyllis'; Anthony, Bryon, and Carley.. I have always loved her, she was so beautiful, caring, generous, and kind. I have thought about her often and it always puts a smile on my face and a warmth in my heart. I always called her Mom, it came naturally. My fondest memories included spring cleaning, Thanksgiving dinners when she made my favorite chocolate pudding pie, Christmases with the families and her generosity. She will be sorely missed. Goodbye mom, Phyllis, I love you. May we reunite at a bountiful joyful banquet in heaven one day. May God give peace and comfort to everyone dear to her during this very anguished and heartbroken time. I trust you are at rest in heaven with a father and Jesus and the Holy Spirit

Proverbs 31:28-29 - Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.

From our house to yours, and across the miles, our deepest, heartfelt sympathies go out to your family during this season of sadness in your lives. We pray you find comfort and peace as you await a new season of joy!
