Richard E. Manfred

Of McCandless Twp., formerly of Kennedy Twp., died on August 5, 2011, he was 79 years of age. Dick was the husband of the late G. Phyllis Manfred and is survived by his four children, Denise Giacomino, Fred Manfred, Rich (Michelle) Manfred and Lisa (Paul) Coury; also his grandchildren, Justin (Michelle) Giacomino, Jessica Giacomino, Ross, Cole and Capri Manfred, Paul, Evan, Marcus and Jordan Coury; and his great-grandchildren, Giovanni and Luca Giacomino; as well as his extended Nellis family. Dick was a retired independent insurance agent, he served in the US Army, two tours with the last time being in Korea as a combat engineer (1/51-12/51) with the 24th Infantry Division. Dick was the son of the late Fred and Teresa Manfred and brother of the late Bridget DiSalvo. Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the H. P. BRANDT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1032 Perry Hwy., Ross Twp., 412-364-4444, where a Blessing Service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow, National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. It is suggested that in lieu of flowers, donation be made in memoriam to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
