Richard J. Matoka

Richard J. Matoka, 73 of the North Hills, passed away on Sunday, March 02, 2014. He was born December 4, 1940 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Charles and Mary (Spontak) Matoka. He was the beloved husband of Karen A. (Karamarkovich) Matoka; loving father of Derek (Megan) Matoka and Kimberly Matoka; grandfather of Kathryn & Ellie Matoka. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara H. Matoka and a brother, Charles Matoka. Prior to his retirement he was employed by AT&T and then worked for Adzema Pharmacy. Richard was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Parish, was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a veteran of the United States Navy. Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8pm in the H.P. Brandt Funeral Home, Inc. , 1032 Perry Hwy, Ross Twp., 412-364-4444. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10am in St. Teresa of Avila.
