Richard W. Theobald

Richard passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by those who loved him, on September 18, 2026, just after his 94th birthday. He is preceded in death by Shirley, his beloved high school sweetheart and wife of 66 years. He leaves behind his children, Jeff Theobald (Dawn Webb), Glenn Theobald (Kenwyn), Laura Schaltenbrand (Mark Walters), and Linda Smay (Joseph).

He was the proud grandfather of Heidi Moeller (Joey), Erika Homapoor (Amir), Troy Schaltenbrand (Celeste), Greta Schaltenbrand, Lindsey Adams (Nicholas), Kiersten Smay (Chad Townsend), Karyn Smith (John), Lauren Kennihan (Mike Pacolay), Kimble Webb (Becca), and Luke Webb.

He was fortunate to have his great-grandchildren, Maxwell, Daphne, and Violet Smith, Jonah Kennihan, and Jackson, Lily, and Mathew Moeller.

He built an extraordinary legacy as a devoted family man, entrepreneur, and President of several companies. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, and actively hunting until the age of 93.

Richard was a man of strong faith and a beautiful example of God’s love. He will be missed dearly by those who knew him.

A visitation for Richard will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026 from 2-8 PM at H.P Brandt Funeral Home, 1032 Perry Highway Pittsburgh PA 15237. A private funeral service will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Richard's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to The Shriners.
